No. All the vocabulary is bundled into the app, so browsing, quizzes, and flashcards work with no connection. A connection is used to process an optional Tip Jar purchase, and some devices' text-to-speech engines use one to generate speech.
No. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no personal data collection. Your progress is stored locally on your device.
Not currently. Each device keeps its own progress. Cross-device sync may be added in a future version.
The Quiz tab shows you a word in kanji and asks you to pick the correct kana reading from four options. It uses spaced repetition to bring back the words you miss more often, and tracks your daily score and streak.
An optional way to support development. Tips do not unlock any features, and nothing about the app changes whether you tip or not.
